Falcon's Way
About Us
In the Beginning
Founded by Stefanie and Klaus Wartenberg in the 1980s
Klaus, a goldsmith, and Stefanie, a gemmologist, combined their backgrounds to realize their dream of owning a jewellery store. The first ever Falcon's Way location was situated in a modest commercial space in the quaint Village Square of downtown Burlington, Ontario. As the business grew over the years, the store was relocated to a corner shop and then finally to its largest location centred within the Square. For many years, they specialized in fine jewellery, custom designs, estate jewellery, and collectibles.

Eventually planning on retiring, the store was closed and the couple moved East to Nova Scotia, looking forward to a quiet outdoor life where they could garden, enjoy the sea and the down-to-earth culture of the Maritimes. They opened a bed & breakfast in their new home, but soon realized their hearts were still invested in Falcon's Way. Thus, they opened a storefront along the boardwalk strip of Annapolis Royal, reviving Falcon's Way. After being open for almost a decade, they decided it was finally time to retire for good!
The Second Generation
Sylvia’s career in the retail jewellery and appraisal industry has spanned thirty-five years. Her early roots were established when she joined Mom and Dad in the family business at the Village Square location in 1990. She is a Graduate Gemmologist of the Gemological Institute of America (1990), has completed the appraisals course offered by the Canadian Jewellers Institute (1995), and earned the designation CPPA from the Canadian Personal Property Appraisers Group (1998). Through seminars and lectures, Sylvia continues to stay up-to-date with the jewellery industry's innovations and designs.

Sylvia has owned and operated Falcon’s Way since 1999. She has since provided jewellery and appraisal services for countless new and existing clients (and their children and grandchildren!) who value the excellent service that Falcon’s Way has always focused on providing.
